No, I don't think we should always be prepared to use guns, they are lethal weapons

There are other ways to handle attacks, you just need to have the innovation and thought process to look for an alternative that won't end in a death. If you have exhausted all other options, then using a gun is the only way to go and that would only be for someone that knows how to use the gun in question.
Yes, I equally propose that they should be used as the last resort.

This is such a controversial topic...

I think that guns are inherently dangerous. They have no other purpose besides to hurt/kill things. Having a gun around can be scary because, even if it belongs to you, someone who wants to hurt you could get a hold of it and use it on you!

I have a hard time justifying the use of guns for almost anything. They are literal killing machines.

It all depends on who you are in the society. If you are trained on how to handle a gun during dangerous confrontations, then the gun might not be the answer. If I need the gun for self-defense, I wouldn't hesitate to use it.

I think it depends on the situation. Personally, I don't have a gun, nor do I want one. I think there are situations in which guns are about the only thing that stands between a person and their death, such as cops or soldiers getting shot at.

In everyday life, I don't think they are generally necessary. I think they help to give some people a sense of security. They also fall into the wrong hands daily, resulting in murders. Gun control is a tricky and controversial subject, and I can see both sides of the picture, and am still trying to figure out exactly where I fall on the spectrum of gun-beliefs.

I don't believe that guns are not the only answer. Many of the guns eventually end up in the hands of the wrong people so I think it is about time people got to learn other means of defending themselves and their loved ones.

I don't think that gun would be the answer. I believe it is so dangerous to have one in the house right now because people are just so easily angered and are not good at controlling their emotions that its presence in the house could just do more harm than good.

I believe in the right to defend yourself. Should it be with an AR-15? No. But I believe we should have security systems, strong locks on our doors, and I believe everyone should do a self-defense class in the chance you will be held at gunpoint or assaulted. I don't believe taking guns away will solve anything as there are still other weapons people can use to kill others with.

I think guns should not be the answer. They can however be used as last resort.

I grew up in a place where guns are illegal and no one I know has ever seen a real-life gun and deaths by shootings are nonexistent, so I've always been of the idea that guns are never the answer.

I really have no idea how to feel about guns most of the time. I've been around them my whole life, but I have no desire to use them for any reason. If it was the apocalypse, that may be a different story, but in the world of now, I don't think they are they answer to problems. Sometimes people feel better having that "power", or the ability to protect themselves and their families with lethal force if necessary, and that's fine if they do. I just want people (including the people who create regulations) to be smart about it.
