this is almost the only genre I read. as much as there are lots of books in this genre nowadays I will always enjoy the creativity and how each author includes supernatural beings we all know but always manage to make the story their own.

It is like a peek into the world of unknown, strange and mysterious. It gives you a unique experience that you can't get in real life.

The genre is great, but as you put it, most of the stories are repetitive almost predictable. i guess this reflects its popularity in contemporary culture.

I love the genre to pieces; im a real sucker for it. But I agree they follow alot of the same tropes over and over again without adding something really new or make it too unbelievable a story.
That being said a saving grace for this genere are the characters and the mechanics of the supernatural interwined in our world

Some stuff has become repetitive, I think it is mostly because they all tend to adopt the same "lore", terminology and concepts

I enjoy the genre, but like fantasy, it has grown so much it has been saturated with a lot of cliche junk, making it hard to find decent new books. There are a multitudes of directions to take the genre, like horror, political, and romantic, just like any character driven novel, but with a slant. i don't think it's become anymore repetitive than any other genre, it's just a matter of what tv/movies make the new "in" thing of the moment and that gets temporarily flooded into the new popular genre for a little bit. Once the hype dies down, the real authors will come out and the pulp fiction will get shoved into a new area again.

I like supernatural genres mostly because they are always interesting read and its never dull. I also like them because it is not easy to predict how the story will unfold because it is always masked in mystery.

I like ghosts and spirits stories , or any story. As long as I am connected with the story or character. Also love biographies.

Not really my favourite genre as I prefer romance. But once in a while I come across a supernatural thriller that captures my attention...

I love it. It may sometimes seem repetitive in terms of storylines, I believe amazing authors are able to take same type of monsters and create an amazing story. For example Raven's Peak seems to has similarities to my favourite series "Supernatural".The author has done a great job of putting a different spin on it.

I love that genre! I enjoy reading mystery, supernatural, and thriller. One of my favorite author was Anne Rice. For me, she's an excellent writer that will give you unique stories of supernatural and thrill.

I love this genre and when I get sucked in to the athmosphere as I read it, that is when I knew the book is good.

I think it is a good genre, but I can imagine it is hard to write originally in it. I think that is why Stephen King has done so well. his stories are so unique.

It probably has been overused, but I don’t think that I care. For the most part, these are stories that I really enjoy. It’s really the same with murder mysteries, which I also really like, by the way. I mean, really, how many different ways are there to tell the same story?
