PDF to Kindle

Post by Sunnyridge »

I recently tried to download and convert a PDF book to the Kindle. The result was painful to read. Too many skipped spaces and it looked like words were also lost. Any suggestions on how to get a PDF to Kindle format other than the Kindle app Send to Kindle. .

Try the Calibre App to convert the file.

I never thought to do that! Thanks for the tip. I usually avoid reading PDFs if I can. Unfortunately Penguin’s First to Read program only sends them and it’s such a pain... (and since it is an asmc file in the end I don’t know if I can). I’ll have to look into it.

But I've noticed a lot of typos and page format issues even after converting with calibre. Is there another way to get conversion done without errors?

Thanks to everyone who has made suggestions about this issue. After attempting to review a pdf- formatted book, I have decided to swear them off. I was miserable trying to get the type size adjusted and the pages turned.

There are several Apps for Android phones and other devices, to read books of various formats. I like eReader Prestigio. A PDF file looks just like a kindle book.

I like Prestigio too. It's particularly good for the Moto 6 cell phone. PDF's are no problem.

I tried to convert a pdf to Amazon format, it was a success, but it was disappointed. Pdf converted file lacks the flexibility of an original amz file.

It's annoying reading PDF's on the Kindle Fire because it won't let me highlight or bookmark anything and I really rely on those features.

I usually use Adobe Reader or Sumatra to read PDF files. But when I import PDF files into Kindle using the File menu, it's the same, with no extra spaces or errors. My Kindle version is 1.26.0 which I downloaded from Amazon free of charge.

You don't really have to convert the book because there are a couple of PDF readers that look exactly like Kindle
