E-readers are great when you want to get a book right away. My library makes it so easy to check out ebooks from the comfort of my couch, that I hardly ever go check out paper books. I'll get real books for long car trips, camping, or when I'm off sailing on a boat for an extended period. Other than that I've got my trusty ipad full of books.

Nothing beats the feeling of the real book in your hands and the smell of paper while reading. But I find e-books incredibly practical and read them regularly.

Both my wife and I have tried e-books on our ipads, but have both gone back to real books. I can see the convenience, or benefits, of e-books in the community, but I have found I actually read more since going back to paper.

While I do like the ability to physically look at the progress you've made (it's fun to watch the "read" part of the book get bigger and the "not read" part of the book get smaller), I do like having the ability to whip out my phone and access a book at anytime.

For physical books, I've been making use of the library. That way, I don't have a bunch of books gathering dust in my house after having been read once. Going to the library forces me to give them back!

I think they each have a purpose. I like an ereader for pleasure, but research and text books should be paper. I like to mark pages for reference and flip through.

I don't dislike them, but a physical book is always going to be superior. It's definitely annoying to read on your computer, not so much on my phone.

When I first decided to try an e-reader I didn't expect to like it. I love electronic books more and more every day. I love finding new ways to access books right away. I never know when I might get an itch for a book I don't have but in 2 minutes it's right there. My Kindle Paperwhite is perfect when I'm traveling and want to take multiple books but don't want to have to carry them.

I think it's a matter of personal preference. I love how portable and easy-to-use my Kindle Paperwhite is and how I can read an unlimited number of books on it!

Same; it definitely comes is handy when reviewing, but otherwise it's a hassle.

I prefer a physical book to the ebooks any day. However, sometimes one can only access the book one wants in e-book form. For that reason I would like to invest in a Kindle.

I'm so grateful e-readers exist!! I travel a lot and I love my kindle - matter of fact, I would not be able to either afford or sustain my reading habits if I did not own one. E-books are cheaper than paper books. My kindle is also very light and practical to carry during my travels; the battery dies out after days that I use it and the lighting is adjustable. I would obviously prefer actual books, and I do still purchase them now and then, but my Kindle is what works for me best right now and I love it.
