I keep one on and off - I find writing things down really helps me to process them. It can feel like a chore though, so I only do it when I feel it is beneficial.
"Every reader is, while he is reading, the reader of his own self. The writer's work is merely a kind of optical instrument which he offers to the reader to enable him to discern what...he would perhaps never have perceived in himself."

Me too! I definitely overthink it and worry too much about it being "right."

I kept a diary when I was in high school. I was updating it every day but I stopped having one when I reached college because of a busy schedule.

I've heard the difference is a diary is written in every day and a journal only sporadically. If that's the true definition, then I am a journaler.

I kept a diary once... but my little sisters made a day out of finding it and reading it. Not that I minded, but since ghen I've started keeping a journal instead, which for some reason has become an account of money I've spent and goals I wish to accomplish. However It hasn't been an everyday affair..
Between the pages of a book is a lovely place to be...

I use the 750 words website, which is a good way to record impressions and thrash things out regularly. I haven't had time to write recently ... hopefully when school starts again.
This post was brought to you by the word "specifically".

I think I'm going to try what a lot of people are talking about and have an online journal or maybe even a blog.

Keeping a diary or a journal is helpful in venting our emotional highs and lows.

My dad always gave me a diary as a bonus birthday present since I was young. I write creative stories in it though not real life experiences

Some of our great heroes kept diaries in them. This is how we got to know them better. Dairy plays an important role in the lives of the keepers.
