I wish that when you saw a book on someones shelf there was a link to add it to your own. Also that it didnt force youto sort. Does Goodreads have these issues?
There is a way to add the book to your shelf. When you press on the book, it will lead you to its page. Then you can add it to your shelf. You can find explanations about the shelves here: Bookshelves FAQ.

I am I member of goodreads but don't use it much. Their recommendations aren't really related to your rated books.

I love love love Goodreads. I have a lot of "friends" on there and the recommendation stream is a lot easier to navigate through vs. this standard old school forum format. I also like that there is an extra star. Goodreads needs an upgrade overall though. I don't think I've ever used the forums there even though I'm in a couple of groups.

I'm a pretty non-active member on Goodreads. My favorite feature of the website is that I can track the number of books I read each year.

I have mixed feelings about goodreads, but the forms here are definitely preferable.

I really loved GoodReads when I first signed up for it, but I haven't been feeling it as much lately...
I don't know why, I think it's because I'm favoring this site more! :D

I really only use Goodreads to keep track of what I've read. Not many people I know use it, so I don't have many people to interact with on it.

I love goodreads.com because of the way it is designed and how quickly I can access books that I might want to read; however, I prefer the forums at Onlinebookclub. The biggest difference is the passion of readers here and how they give a honest opinion about books, where I often feel that goodreads has a lot of "fluff" in reviews.

I like goodreads because it's easy to list the books you've read, but I like this site better too. It's just difficult adding the 1000+ books I've read in onlinebookclub.
I have always imagined that Paradise will be a kind of library.

Not a bad website. I tend to use my better judgment in the books I read so I try to keep away from goodreads until I'm done with the book because honestly some "popular" reviewers can be horrible and petty for the author to read. Sometimes reviews don't need to be that brutal. Just state your opinion on the book, not your opinion of them as a person. It reminds me of the reviews on Yelp over having to deal with a waiter then with the actual tasting of the food. Fail! All in all I like the discussion groups and the giveaways!

I mainly use Goodreads to help keep track of the books that I have read. I also use it to find recommendations for books when my favorite authors do not have new books out. I very rarely use the forums.

I'm pretty active on Goodreads.

I came across that site through my boyfriend's mom and have been using it to keep track of books that I have already read and the opinions I had of them as well as scout out future reads.
