Re: Email Verification Help

Post by mayonakaokami »

I get the email just fine, I click the link and it takes me to the RT page and still says that I need to confirm. By doing that it also sends me another confirmation email. So again, I am getting the email, and clicking the link, but its not confirming.

@mayonakaokami That's strange. I'm sorry for the trouble. Have you possibly registered more than one account on the website? I have added some additional error messages to hopefully debug what is causing this. Do you mind trying again and telling me what happens.

I think its okay now, it just all of a sudden said it went through, after it sent me like 15 confirmation emails. And this is the only account i have, but thank you for the help anyway.

@mayonakaokami I'm glad it worked. I'm sorry for the trouble.

Hi Scott. I have done step 1 to 5 and nothing works. I can't switch email providers though as this is the first time I encountered a problem with it. I could PM you another email account of mine?

You can change the email account this site interacts with via your user control panal :)
On your user control panal, under profile choose edit account settings. I hope that helps!

@"Cee-Jay Aurinko" What did your email provider say when you contacted them about it?

Or if it it's easier, you can switch your email in the way Graverobber explained. (It should be noted that new members and authors won't be able to do that.)

Also, Cee-Jay Aurinko, may I ask if you realized you were not getting the emails from the OnlineBookClub server before the verification process was started a few days ago?

I already verified my email successfully several days ago. I just submitted a review and the update page says that an email verification was sent, although this time it doesn't specify my email address. I did not reveive this latest verification email, even after I tried to have it resent. After I submitted the review, the same notification came up when the ending blurb page comes up. As I mentioned, this latest set of notifications don't specify my email address the way the original notification did a few days ago.

I was able to have success using the email link I already received and used a few days ago. Maybe I should keep that link and use it each time in the future?

@bookowlie The message about being unverified was being erroneously displayed on the 'success' page after submitting a status update. I have fixed it so that message won't be displayed again.

I tried two other emails from mine (one Gmail, one gmx) and still nothing. When I contacted my service provider of my mail.com account, their solution was totally unrelated to my problem. I haven't gotten any emails from the OBC surfer Scott.

I would be surprised that gmail isn't working. After you changed your email address to gmail, did you go back to the review team and have the confirmation email resent?

I tried that, but it didn't work. Maybe it's because I'm using a mobile browser. I'll try doing it directly from my laptop tomorrow.

Your email address isn't gmail.com but mail.com. Perhaps it's typo?

Nope. I have a mail.com, gmail.com, and a gmx email account. The one I'm currently using on OBC is mail.com.

Okay, since when you contacted mail.com they were unresponsive to the actual issue, please switch your email with the website to gmail. Then follow the steps with one, namely clicking resend after switching the email to gmail.
