Oh, wow, the premise sounds very interesting, and though I'm not keen on reading about romances that include conventionally beautiful people (they tend to be uninspired), I'm glad it does not distract from the main point :) Great review! Your explanations are generous :D

The concise and descriptive nature of this review definitely peaks my curiosity. I am looking into forward to reading Confessions of a Llama. I do enjoy historical fiction and memoir so I should enjoy this book very much. I know next to nothing about Africa's and South America's diplomatic relationship so this should be educational for me as well.

I'm not one for reading books on sensitive subjects, but I do love history. Your description of this novel and that it reads almost like a memoir in first person definitely has me wondering if I should give it a try. An excellent review for those who aren't sure given the subject matter, letting us know the various other elements included.

An honest review ! Thanks for the knowledge, at least I know something happened and is happening somewhere in some parts of this crazy world. From this story we got a lot to relate to.

I usually don't enjoy historical fiction books that don't have a narration that engages the reader well, but this book seems structured well enough to provide a story that tells the hardships of people.

Back in college, one of my professors reared Llama for his PhD thesis. So when I saw the title I was reminded of these Llama. One reason I would read this book is to get a better understanding of the slave trade 400 years ago. I want to understand the pain and hardships that black people faced. From your incredible review, it's clear that these topics are explained.
But the path I’ve chosen has always been the right one, and I wouldn’t have had it any other way. :)

While this wouldn’t be my genre of choice, I am always interested in learning about different historical information and cultural differences. Based on your in depth review, it sounds like that is exactly what this book offers and with an entertaining aspect.

I enjoyed this review!! Well done.

Great review. I usually avoid historical fiction concerning the Trans-Atlantic slave trade. I rather read/learn about actual events during that period. Based on your review that it reads more like a memoir, I will place it on my to read list.
