A Police Action is compact with romance, thrills and humorous characters, brought to you by A. A. Freda. He has also served in the Vietnam War, which makes the story like in the real war scenes. His exposure as a soldier reveals the soldier's sincere work in training, combat missions and in ordinary days. History enthusiasts will basically enjoy in devouring this book, but it is not limited to the fond of a romance novel. However, the book is off to a minor audience because it contains explicit scenes like sex, abortion and filthy words.

James Coppi is a draftee having "Two Article Fifteens" in the Military Disciplinary Action. He is bound for Vietnam, but before the Vietnam War Mission took place, let's take a look of his life in Colorado Springs Military Headquarters. He doesn't know yet his job order, so he mingles with his new friends in the bar. Samantha Powers, a Preacher's daughter wants to become an independent young adult. She meets James at the bar. James enjoys her company, while accomplishing his Military duty. He indeed made Samantha his common-law wife and performs the duty of a husband. However, Samantha is having a baby before she meets James. How can the two of them handle this matter? Finally, the moment of Vietnam Mission has arrived. James did a good job of being a soldier, but he is confused about his feelings towards Samantha. James lacks the courage to face Samantha, while Samantha is anxious to see James again. Who will make the first move to know the real feelings towards them? Will they live together again?

War is a troublesome conflict between nations to nations. The one who suffered much is not the one who declares the war. Soldiers sacrifice their lives in respect for the country. The author writes this book in the account of a soldier's lifestyle, emotions and mission's journey. Like for example, sleeping while standing, having soiled underwear and patience on their dusty gear from head to toe; thinking all the good way back home is their motivation to stay alive. A Soldier finds a way out to be happy, like mesmerizing their loved ones and rejoicing when there is ice cream. They will not tell terrible things like my buddy lost an arm, the one next to me in the battle is killed or the base camp is on fire.

Freda is excellent in setting the details of the story. The events and the characters (both the protagonist and supporting characters) are well developed. The places are also absolutely remarkable including the brief description of Colorado Springs and Wunder beach. I am craving in the unique cuisine mentioned throughout the book, too. Furthermore, exchanging letters between James and Samantha is quite sweet. I like it. I never experienced reading and mailing letters because as I learn to read and write, communication got simpler. I also appreciate the flow of friendship in this book. Friendship does not matter in the shortest or the longest span of time, but it matters in the memories you've shared together either in good times or bad. The bond of friendship in this book is so touching, you will have a teardrop if you can relate.

I will rate A Police Action 4 out of 4 stars. The author is carefully noted the soldier's journey without dull moments. I enjoyed reading this book and very excited to finish it in my spare time. I spotted a minimal error, but I did not find any misspelled words, and this is considered professionally edited. I liked least in the matter of abortion and lending money with high interest.

I thought about reading this one a few months back. Although I'm not partial to cursing, I know that is a part of military life. I may have to give this one a try after your very thorough review. It sounds like you really enjoyed it 😊
