My favorite books are in hardcover versions when I can get them. It feels like they last a little longer that way, and look fantastic on my shelf. I usually buy paperback when I want to take a book with me on the go since those are lighter to carry around and not as tiring to hold while reading, but if I end up loving a paperback edition I try to budget in buying a hardcover version eventually.

Old school Paperback. Once you understand the frustration it is to be able to not physically scribe in notes and highlight various passages, you'll want paperback in a whiff. On the plus side, paperback is cheaper; even free most of the time.

Paperbacks are smaller and cheaper so I prefer them when I buy paper books.

I'm cool with both. I prefer hardcover for special books, but paperback is easier to take on the go. Hardcovers don't wear as easily though.

I prefer paperback books. Hardcover books are harder for me to handle. It is also more difficult to find a comfortable position to read them in that doesn't make my hand cramp up.

Mostly paperback, grew up with them and give me les problem as for weight when carrying them around. Gotta admit, tough, the most appreciated book I currently have is a hardcover.

I like paperback better, generally speaking. It's easier to hold, no book jacket to deal with, and they're usually smaller so easier to take with you. However, when it comes to looks, hard cover wins. The pretty jackets and classic look of the cardboard covers just look better sitting on a shelf, even though they can be less convenient for reading. I do usually stay consistent when collecting a series though. It doesn't matter so much whether they are paper or hard, so long as the whole series is the same.

I chose paperback.
It’s easy to flip the pages then struggling with hardcover.

I prefer paperback, but if I get something in hardcover, I prefer it to be on the smaller side--hardcover books aren't very easy to hold with one hand. I'm terrible with book jackets, so those are typically taken off when I start reading a book and then put back on when the book is being stored on the shelf.

I prefer hardcover if I am reading at home, paperback of I’m traveling. This is if I can afford the hardcover versions, which I usually can’t :D

Well I normally go for a paperback because it's easier to handle. And I don't really know about hardcover because I don't really own it so I'd say I don't mind either as long as I can enjoy the book

I prefer paperback just because they aren't as heavy and bulking. If I get a series though, they need to all be either paperback or hardcover. I don't like having mixed ones unless i absolutely have to.

I am a paperback fan, too. Easier to handle and that is how I got used to. Hardback remind me school books. 😀

I have both paperback and hardcover.
I think, it is preferable to take books from a public library.
