It's a pet peeve of mine when series end with or start from a cliffhanger so I'm glad this is a stand-alone. The sample didn't highlight much of what to expect, but this review assists with that somewhat. I've downloaded the book but I'm on the fence about it.

I love a mystery that engages the reader throughout and ties up all the loose ends with a satisfying ending. Thank you for your review!

Writing a full blown novel with a handful of characters can be really tasking. But it seems like the author did great putting this together. I loved reading your review too.

Hillary's love and dedication to her daughter are what make this story so likable to someone like me. This book has enough mystery and suspense to keep us reading right till the end.

I like it when a book remains engaging throughout the story, and ends when all of the loose ends are beautifully wrapped up together. This book, therefore, is definitely a nice one. Fans of mysteries will love it. Unfortunately I'm not much into this type, and I'll pass on this one.

The storyline of this book is intriguing. But, I wasn't much interested in reading a book about delving through family secrets. So, I wasn't going to read this book. But, the author seems to have taken great efforts to make this book realistic. Also, the fact that this book can be read as a standalone novel while it's a part of a series is a feature I like about this book. So, maybe I'll try it out.

I am glad that the book is a stand alone despite being in a series. The story does sound interesting, mysterious when family secrets crop up, and entertaining too. Claire's character being brought up well in the story adds a great perspective. For me a book with well-developed characters is always a bonus. Thank you for a precise review.
