I was already looking forward to reading this book, and after reading your review, this has not changed. I am especially happy that this can stand on its own, although I will probably get the others anyway. Thank you for your review, it has helped boost my interest in the book even more! :D

I think it takes skill to create a book that stands alone, despite it being part of a series. Great review, there's aspects of this book I would love!

The reviewer mentions that persons interested in Ireland and Irish history should find this book enjoyable. I am always eager to learn about different countries. So, a story set in the Emerald Isle looks like it's right up my alley.

I am intrigued by the "dark family secrets" in the review. What could these be? Though I am not a fan of series, knowing that this is a stand-alone novel makes me very interested to dig into this and learn the secrets! Congrats!

I like the cover art because I thought that this would was going to be more horror related, but I can see why the building is green. I like the accurate portrayal of the characters especially Claire because it can be tricky to make the child's actions and thoughts correspond to their particular age. I like that the main character is a writer and is something that more authors should do.

When I saw that this book was third in a series I was hesitant but interested. After reading your review I'm glad to know that this book can be read as a stand-alone. I like that the story wraps up in the end so that there are no loose ends. From the sounds of it, this is a gripping mystery novel and I look forward to reading it.

This doesn't really seem interesting to me, but family secrets always appear interesting in a description.

Ireland, House of Eire, both seem related. Or to be precise, House of Ireland it really is. I seem to have not read something I should be curious about, only some common family bonding. But the presence of a detective augurs a mystery lurking somewhere. Thanks for the nice-flowing review.

A mystery that centers around family secrets with female protagonists sounds pretty yummy. I don't know if I will get to it, but thanks for the beautiful review. It definitely has me interested.

Thanks for the review! Even though the book stands alone, I think I will have to give the first book of the series a chance before I start this one!

Oh goodness! I wonder what ghostwriter Hillary and her detective husband Ed will find in Ireland? How dark are those secrets? Good to know that this book can be read without needing to read the previous books in the series. Also, I like that ending was tied up nicely. Well-developed characters, especially little Claire, sounds like a pleasure to read about. Glad you found this to be well edited and that you found that no areas need improving. Thank you for sharing!

From a sampling, this seems like an interesting mystery/crime novel about surrounding a ghostwriter and her detective husband. It looks like it is worth a second look. Well done.
