I really like the premise of this book. It's too bad it got a bit rambly in parts, but it sounds like it still had lots to offer in the way of twists and turns and character development. Thanks for a thorough review!

Great review... I totally understand what you meant about the characters falling into the mould of their roles...it is tough not to have them do that...

Azrael sounds weirdly cartoonish with his whole "I will have your soul" schtick but in a good way. I can't explain it but he sounds like a lot of fun as a villain. Sounds like a good book.

I liked that the author is a great storyteller such that it was hard not to empathize with him describing Alex’s sense of losing her whole family. Thanks for the great review.

It is tough! And I suppose the moulds come from what they're supposed to be. I just think that a flaw in character every now and again adds to the realism. Not that there's much realism with the angel of death walking around, but you know...

I know... and he had a three-piece suit and shiny black shoes... the perfect cartoon :)
It was definitely worth the read! Thanks for popping by.

At first glance, it looks like a very interesting book. I love almost anything about the supernatural and being able to see the angel of death definitely qualifies. Suspension of disbelief seems to be somewhat of a problem though, even if the characters are likable and the storyline engaging. I'm not sure whether I'll pick this one up but it's worth considering. Thanks for the heads up!

This sounds like it could be a rather hard book to read for someone who has lost family members. I'm still too tender to pick up a book like this, but I'm happy that you were able to see the potential in it.

Unfortunately, I have also read books where too much meandering dialog took away from the plot. Thank you for a very thoughtful and insightful review!
