Anime Music

Post by Charlyt »

By reading some of the forums here, I can see that some members are fans of animes. What are your favorite OSTs/ songs from animes? Like, Unravel from Tokyo Ghoul, Reluctant Heroes and So ist es Immer from Attack on Titan.
Do you go to the trouble to learn the lyrics even if they're in Japanese? Because I do!

I'm a huge fan of anime! In fact, I loved "Michi To You All" from Naruto Shippuuden and even some OSTs from Bleach and Fairy Tail! Also, through listening to these songs dozens of times, I came to memorize their lyrics naturally even if they're japanese. It's much fun that way, actually!

I'm a big fan of Fairy Tale's intro music, but especially "Snow fairy" and "ft." by FUNKIST, and "Egao No Mahou (エガオノマホウ)" by Magic Party.

I'm a fan of Fairy Tail and AoT too, but my favorite OST are "Little Busters" from FlCl (Fooly Cooly, if someone still remembers this :? ) and "Nigeru Mono" from "Paprika". If Amvs count, I love "Welcome to my secrets" with clips from "Welcome to the NHK" (another underrated anime, check it out  ).

I like the way it enhances the feel of an anime. My favourites are Yoko Kanno and Yuki Kajiura. They're very atmospheric and get down to the meat of what the anime is.

Animé are animations from Japan. Basically, cartoon series/movies made by the Japanese. Some anime have really good songs and soundtracks which makes them as popular as the anime itself.

The first two themes lyrics that I actively went in search of was Shiki no Uta from Samurai Champloo and Broken Wings from Trinity Blood. These were the first I was introduced to after being introduced to the AdultSwim line up years ago. There was even a search for Inner Universe for Ghost in the Shell SAC.

Favorite OSTs from anime include:
  • One Piece
  • Samurai Champloo
  • Naruto
  • Bleach
  • Ghost in the Shell
  • Eureka 7
  • Cowboy Bebop
  • Ninja Scroll
  • Blood+
  • Dead Leaves (graphic)
  • R.O.D. Read or Die
  • Red Baron (oldie not many have heard of)
  • Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titan)
  • Escaflowne
  • Mon Colie Knights
  • Flint the Time Detective
I'm pretty sure there's more but these are the first that come to mind. Thank's to my library's music resources I was able to obtain some tracks from a select few of the above.

The Ghost in the Shell soundtrack is divine. Have you seen the live scoring that was done recently for the live-action film? It may not be that good of a movie, but the performance was great.
