I am looking for my next favorite book. I am having trouble finding one, I enjoy Ken Follett and Sidney Sheldon books but I would like to get into a new authors books. I have read the women's murder club, by James Patterson as well.

I am not familiar with the authors you mention, but I highly recommend the Ikmen series of crime novels by Barbara Nadel. They are slightly dark yet crime novels set in Istanbul which explore a whole range of social issues too.

Check these two out. They're very different, but I like them both a lot:
Galveston by Nick Pizzolatto

Was quite a read, it can be hard in some places, but I really enjoyed the read.

I haven't read Sidney Sheldon myself but have you heard of Karin Slaughter? The crimes are pretty brutal but she's a very good writer. I started with Blindsighted.

Dunno if it fits the bill for you (not sure if you're looking for true crime or mysteries), but Tana French's Dublin murder squad series is A+++. She has a new novel out apart from the series but definitely start with her older stuff first if you're looking for crime-based fiction.

I would recommend the Lady Darby series by Anna Lee Huber if you want an easy, captivating read. The books are set in historical/ pre-victorian Scotland, and the main character is a headstrong, clever woman. The mysteries are very well-built, and always keep you guessing!

I second the Agatha Christie recommendation! I recently finished one of her most popular, And Then There Were None, and found it very satisfying. Good luck!
