I had a thought like that to. ...or what if the girls made it worse because they lost their friend because of her. The ideal thing would be for them to realize life is too short to be so petty, but who knows.

That would be horrible, but I can really see it happening. The rest of the girls could be even more awful to Juliet and Juliet might end up feeling guilty and start blaming herself for Sam's death.

I think she was very depressed, which is why she was so determined to end her life. And the ending of the book certainly didn't help with that, I think Sam saving her life might make it worse or who knows, might make her think she has a second shot at life.
