Is there something about the beginning of the book that makes it hard to get into? I'm just wondering after reading some of the posts on this thread.

I absolutely love stories like this. It reminds me of "The Butterfly Effect" where small changes can have huge drastic consequences and I love seeing how they play out. It really makes me think of my own life and how small decisions I make could alter my life. It's a page-turner and really makes you think.

Before I Fall - 3 stars out of 5

Oh, this book went into my Favourites shelf immediately. Ir's actually the book that got me into the whole YA-streak which introduced me to Sarah Dessen, Jo Treggiari and more.

Before I Fall is a really good book (even though it dragged a bit).

I haven't read this yet but have mixed feelings. I hate getting books and then them not live up to my expectations but, I wouldn't be able to not finish it because it would drive me nuts. So I'm debating still.

The only Lauren Oliver book I've ever read was Vanishing Girls and I was so disappointed by it. I figured out what was going on almost immediately. I'm sort of worried about picking up Before I Fall. Has anyone read both? Is Before I Fall better than Vanishing Girls?

I really liked this book. I didn't realize until I read this book that just changing the what you say or doing one thing differently can change a lot of things. Giving a compliment to an "unpopular" kid could save their life.

That is an accomplishment. Many authors try, but do not always suceed in creating an unlikable character that the reader can find themself rooting for.

Somehow, Oliver manages to take the girl all of us hated in high school and make us empathize with her and root for her. That is a pretty big accomplishment in my book.
NOW, I want to read this book! ~KK

As much as I love YA literature, I don't enjoy reading contemporary romance novels because most books have a predictable ending. The plot of Before I fall was very unusual, and I actually enjoyed reading it.

The Delirium series has been on my to-be-read list for ages. I might give it a try.

This book was just fantastic! A very easy read for; it definitely didn't take long. However, I have to graciously disagree that we were meant to route for Sam...I found myself still loathing her egotistical character from beginning to end and feeling a large amount of satisfaction that she finally got what was coming to her. Perhaps that was Oliver's intent, but I had never thought of her intent being that way. Either way, like I said, a very, very good read. I'd pick it up again in a heartbeat!

We all have hated or envied some girl in high school. This book shows us the other side of the hate and the aftershocks of it.

I felt like this was a mediocre book. It was superficial in some ways with an idea that has already been done (aka Groundhog Day). The writing was good and I liked Samantha. A good book, but not great.

I was a little skeptic about this book before, but once I started reading it...it was impossible to keep it down...every single moment that I was free...I was reading it. It has an awesome concept and actually makes you realize that every single action has a reaction....

I forget how I heard about this book, but when I did I immediately added to my to-read list. I was not disappointed! I really enjoyed Before I Fall, and I'm sure there are others that haven't read it will enjoy it, too! :)
