I have two books I need to choose from. On the plus side...one of them will work if romance gets picked...so that may help with my decision

I am waiting to see what wins first.

I agree! I'm waiting to start reading though, because I have at least two books, maybe three, that I want to finish this month before starting next month! . However, I think I know what book I want to read!

I'm still reading my second book for this month, but I'm halfway through. What will you be reading?

I voted too! My vote went for adventure but it seems I was the first one, lol! I don't mind the other choices tho. I guess we can always cross the historical fiction with other genres and read something of the subgenre? I have quite some hisorical romances, historical detective stories, steampunk and alternative history novel in my to-be-read pile.

I voted. I hope that my favorite genre Fantasy will get more votes. But in the end what matter is how good is the book.

Modern poetry would be a nice way to get to know young authors!

Hi! I'm new here and looking forward to being a part of the team. We're coming up on "the silly season" as I like to call it. You know, After Halloween, fall festivals, then it' time to start thinking about the Thanksgiving holidays, Christmas and all the activities that fill up our schedules this time of year. So, I prefer to stick to lighter reading and feel good stories during these crazy couple of months. Although what I consider light reading might not be what others think. I love inspirational books, non-fiction true life stories and realistic fiction. I just read a couple reviews of Elizabeth Gilbert's new book, Big Magic, I definitely want to get that one. I also want to read Mitch Albom's new book, The Magic Strings of Frankie Presto. So I didn't see it on the list, but I would say Inspirational.

I'm going to go with The Hunchback of Notre-Dame. I can't wait to start it! Have you thought about what you're reading?

Second book for this month? You're good. I kind of want to do that too, but I'd like to finish Free Fish Friday and my next book review book, so we'll see!

Indeed! I said that my choices are 'Hunchback' and 'Birdsong' by Sebastian Faulks, which is centred around WW1. I can't wait to start

I actually just found that in a thrift store not that long ago. Never much had an inclination towards it prior, but now I have it waiting for me

That's awesome! It'd be interesting to see what we all think of this book after we read it!
