Hello Paluk Pathania
I know what you mean. It's what I love about historical fiction - the fact that people lived differently. I particularly enjoy snippets about day-to-day living. That's why my story is based firmly around the Chiddleigh family and the estate and showing how they lived and farmed, with just a few references to the politics of the time.

Nice interview. Sounds so much fun when you get to research about your own roots, the history behind it, and the best part, it's narrated by your grandparents. You get to know so much more about your ancestry and obviously, get to spend time with your grandparents. Loved the process of this entire book writing process.

What a lovely historical fiction and such an informative, wonderful and encouraging interview it is. I am greatly impressed and I am looking forward to read more of the kind of your interviews and books.

I loved the interview. I can't believe people used to be paid to go to church. Just like Susan Frances, I love lime green, particularly the cushions.

It's hard to imagine that if they didn't go to church, they didn't get their wages but the church had more influence then.

I understand completely how it took you 5 years to write. I once fancied myself to become a historical fiction author, but as I started out I found that the degree of research required was far greater than I anticipated, and being able to keep it an entertaining read for the modern mind is a very delicate balancing act! My level of respect for historical authors went up hugely. Everyone should try writing at least once, if only for that reason.

Thanks Kandscreeley and Susan Frances for an interesting interview! How fun and cheerful that you painted your dining room lime green!
However, I prefer a car over a horse when going somewhere.

I myself grew up listening to stories from different people and i still do. They somehow inspire me to be a writer and from reading this interview i think i can start going towards that dream. It was a good and informative interview

Thanks for the interview, it was really interesting. It's written in a light and fun way, while at the same time showing a lot of things about being a writer. I was definitely interested in the books and will try to read them.
