If I had had a chance of an interview with Dr. Frank L. Douglas, I would have asked him about British Guyana. Has he abandoned any thought about it? We know a lot about the States, and about racial unfairness, and about ways to become successful in spite of various hardships. What is there that was left in the colony, though? How do people live there? Do they have ambitions? Do they succeed in their pursuits?

This interview made me want to read the book since I just finished reading a memoir of a different author.

Very nice interview. I met a Guyanese family two years ago. I had never even heard of Guyana before then.

Great interview, kandscreeley. Exceptionally well done.
Heart! We will forget him!
You an I, tonight!
You may forget the warmth he gave,
I will forget the light.

When you have done, pray tell me
That I my thoughts may dim;
Haste! lest while you're lagging.
I may remember him!

:?: I wonder in what way has writing the book been "walking the less travelled road" for the author. I suppose many of the black stream did succeed, in spite of the hardships, and have written about it. What would have been the more travelled road" for him.

Great interview and highly informative. I didn't know acute leukemia had a cure. Just last week, my country lost a distinguished C.E.O of the biggest telecom company in our region to acute myeloid leukemia. Funny he also hailed from Guyana. Also, am sad that racism is back all over again in America. Why would anyone care about the colour of the skin of the other person???

The interview is very informative to a reader interested int he book as it gives a heads up of what to expect. People who are victims of racism either in America or elsewhere can truly relate.

What a powerful interview. I think this is the start to ending racism. Getting to know people different than you. Sitting talking. Beene brown said move in, it’s hard to hate up close. We could all do that more.

The humble and hard circumstances of his beginnings but never feeling belittled or pitied until he came to America is a credit to the culture in which Dr. Douglas was raised. I am truly intrigued to read his book and learn what I can from his many experiences. With the time of his arrival to America being such a volitile time in history, I can only imagine what he witnessed and survived. It's a great oppurtunity to get a close look at history and I don't intend to pass it up! Great interview! Thank you!
