What's your favorite line or lyric from any song or poem? It can be one of your own if one of your own is your favorite.

My favorite line is by Mos Def (who happens to be my favorite artist) in the song Definition:

"In the jungle with the leaders we the lions you the cheaters."
"That virtue we appreciate is as much ours as another's. We see so much only as we possess." - Henry David Thoreau

"Non ignara mali miseris succurrere disco." Virgil, The Aeneid

I have several, the first that comes to mind is from an Indigo Girls song, Love Will Come to You (they have beautiful lyrics):

"the paws of fear upon your chest only love can soothe that beast"

"But as, in ethics, evil is a consequence of good, so, in fact out of joy is sorrow born. Either the memory of past bliss is the anguish of to-day, or the agonies which are have their origin in the ectasies which might have been." ~ Edgar Allan Poe- Berenice

I really liked this line because it seemed so philosophical at first but much joy came from the understanding of its meaning and the context of Poe's story.

'Judge not, that you be not judged,' Is a line from one of my own poems. It says it all, I think. I have listed the poem here.

Judge Not

'Judge not, that you be not judged,'
That is stated well,
It leaves those with poor
judgment, to their own judgment,
Making their life hell.
Getting both sides of the story,
Will show you what I mean,
If you would ask more questions,
The truth would soon be seen.
So if you want a hell on earth,
judge others you don't know,
By judging others, you will find,
The devil owns your soul.

ha my favorite lyrics at the moment are from this not very popular "band" i guess u'd call it Damned Tragedy. um they have a song "download my pain" and it makes me smile uncontrolably when they sing:
"you send him a picture it was of your tits
i know you photoshopped that sh*t
cause your boobs aren't that big"

idk about u but i thought that was hilarious lol
"I hope you can't sleep and you dream about it
And when you dream I hope you can't sleep and you SCREAM about it
I hope your conscience EATS AT YOU and you can't BREATHE without me"

the most annoying thing on earth (maybe not on earth) is when i get a little part of a song in my head and i have no idea who sings it and I can't explain it to anyone how it's sung...so i just have some odd part of a song that no one can identify in my head...THE WORST
