Your opinion on Atticus

Post by Only1Cola »

I have recently done an internet search on the poet Atticus because I saw quotes from his poetry all over on social media. He is an anonymous but terrifically famous young poet. People are saying he is the ‘new Byron’ with his outspoken love poems. He wears a mask when he appears in public, but he consorts with some of the young Hollywood crowd.

What have you heard about him? What do you think of him? Of his poetry? Has anyone bought or read any of his books?

These are some quotes from his work:

“We are all strange. We just become good, at pretending to be normal.”

“True love exists in moments stumbled upon by accident in hospitals, in airports and underneath the stars gone before you realize it was there missed before you knew you had it.”

“I could never love her, the fear of losing her would be too strong.”

“I aspire to be an old man with an old wife laughing at old jokes from a wild youth.”

Beautiful stuff!

I've never purchased any of Atticus's books, but I've admired his poetry via social media posts. Most of his poetry is short, almost more like a philosophical quote, so if you are a quote addict like myself you will probably enjoy his work! I understand his desire to be anonymous as it's often easier to share our art when under the protection of a mask.

Atticus is one of my favourite poets. He communicates simple messages in such a beautiful way and really understands the wonder that is love. I love reading is work and collecting his books.

I love his work and I'm guilty of using some of he's circulating work as profile pictures, status posts and so on.

I think Atticus understands his audience very well.

He understands the fact that most readers now glance at a piece of writing and ingest it quickly. If a piece is too long, it could be hard for most people on social media to find an interest in, and he's doing a phenomenal job in packing great insight into a few lines of text which is not as easy as it looks or sounds.
