I think that the ghost of the murdered woman has the role of the "Erinyes" from greek mythology. The Erinyes were three goddesses who avenged crimes against the natural order.

The theme of an avenging spirit is so cool that I'm surprised this is the only story where it appears. But it is a bit hoary, so maybe the other authors felt that it has been done already. But I'm so glad this story used it.

I agree with you that it is surprising that only one of ten stories about vengeance and self destruction used it.

Fantastic job on your short story!! I loved the subtle ironies that Scott mentioned as well, and in no way thought the murder was a stretch. These kinds of things happen more than we would like to know, unfortunately. The story deletion scene was my favorite I think; space by space, character by character!!!! I could practically feel his dread. Ha ha, take that you villainous man-boy!

I haven't yet read this story yet, but after all of these wonderful comments about it, I can't wait to!

I loved how it had an Edgar Allan Poe like theme to it. How guilt can take over a person and manifest itself in many ways. I also loved how Karma came at him in the end! By far the best book in this series.

Ghostwriter was intense, and to me it read like a movie. I loved the pun in the title. It was hard to imagine that intense of a reaction to the situation that unfolded so that held me back from falling too far in love with this story. Also I really wanted a different ending and was a little sad the main event in the story happened in the first few paragraphs and the story was really just the reaction of the after blow. I really wanted the story to end differently with the wife seeking her own revenge since out of all the characters, if I was her I would have beat down a motel room door, an office door, and many other things to rip the husband a new one.

I really liked this one, I thought it was a great story! There were some nice twists that kept me on my toes.

I assumed the story would be about someone who wrote books for the crediting author though the fact that it were a ghost was very cool. it was interesting and kept me hooked the entire time. I wished it were a little longer.
