User Trade Thread

Post by StephenKingman »

Many members here are members of eBay and other sites which buy and sell books and Kindles etc. How about a thread where people post what they are selling? Im sure lots of members have lots of old books which they want to sell or books which they want and cant get. Swapping trade details amongst members would be a good idea. This way you cut out the waiting of auctions and also, like-minded members are slightly more trustworthy than your average buyer. Obviously all sales are at your own risk and also, postage charges from the varied demographic of members would have to be considered, also new members will no doubt not be as genuine as longer termers but i reckon this is a great idea.

If you have books or Kindles or book accessories to sell and you put it up here, a lot of people will see it and, with the varied tastes of members here, a lot of books are available on tap, and at half the price of standard bookshops and sites. For example, i will start ball rolling:

Six very good conditioned King books; Full Dark No Stars (hardback), Cell, Under the Dome, Black House, Just after Sunset and The Mist, yours for 6 Euro plus postage!

What do people think of this idea, any feedback or suggestions? I know Im assuming members are on eBay and the other payment method like postal orders wont sit well with some people but im sure this has potential, get back to me and i have also asked Scott for his input :D

Ok.

I have Jodi Picoult 'Handle with Care' in hardback, in extremely good condition (only been read once) and it is also signed - £5.00
'Beach Road' and 'London Bridges' by James Patterson in hardback - again in extremely good condition (only been read once) - £4.00 each
'Creation in Death' by JD Robb - in hardback - slight marks on the sides but in good condition - £3.00
'Skipping Christmas' by John Grisham - again extremely good condition and in hardback - £2.50
Also I have a really extensive range of Nora Roberts books - PM me for titles and individual prices. (But it wont be more than £3.00)
I also have the Twilight books - all in great condition all paperback except Breaking Dawn which is in Hardback. For the full set - £13

Of course I'm negotiable on prices so PM me if you're interested.

Obviously postage is dependent on location but I strive to get the best rates possible.

Sounds like a great idea. I'm a bit neanderthal in my book shopping so I probably won't take advantage of it.

@SKM

Hey there SKM, I just wanted to quickly ask if you liked "Blockade Billy"? I nearly bought it in a book shop one day. It seemed like a strange book for King to write. I know that he loves his baseball.

Hi Gannon, i thought it was only average personally, like the kind of novella that may be tacked on to the end of one of his famous series of novellas like Different Seasons: average and a bit forgettable. I understand he wanted to include it in Full Dark No Stars but couldnt due to timing issues. If you like baseball as much as King then you will definitely like it but it went over my head im afraid! :D

Thanks SKM, I am not a baseball fan at all. I think I will give it a miss. :)

I have some books I'd like to sell, I'd actually just like to rid them so I wouldn't ask for much at all, just to cover postage perhaps.
They're all by John Pinkney and it is a 3 book series. Best selling Australian author. Non-Fiction books.
:)
Unexplained - Disappearances. Haunting's. Omens.
Haunted - The Book of Australia's Ghosts
Unsolved - Exploring the World's Strangest Mysteries.

They're all really spooky, gave me the shivers!!
Tell me if you're interested and i'll sort something out, really don't want much for them hahah.
Good for teenagers maybe if you have a son you'd like to get into reading?? Although, beware not for the young!

I am also willing to trade, I'm easy to please! 8)

^^^ Forgot to mention, they're all in good condition I can show pictures to people really interested hahah, if you want anyway.
