They bickered back and fourth on what I should be called. My dad said that he'd just call me Bonk Bonk instead of Bianca. Then my brother intervened, thankfully, and now my name is Megan. Unfortunately, I still got a weird nickname of Moo with my name that my distant relatives seem to favor.

I'm a twin, so my parents wanted to give us more twin names, like starting with the same letters and such. My dad named us.

My dad was late to my delivery. When he finally got there and saw me in my mother's arms he said "she is so precious". That's why they named me Precious.

My name is Natasha because Black Widow was one of my dad's favorite comic book characters and he always wanted to name his daughter Natasha. My mom mostly came up with the name for my older sister, so it was my dad's turn, haha. They also named one of my younger brothers Logan after Wolverine.

My original name is Agnieszka, which is a variation of Agnes (Inez, Enis). My dad really liked the name and so here I am. The name comes from Greek and means 'purity'. There is an interesting story associated with the name from Ancient Roman times.

A girl named Agnes was being forced to get married against her will. Her father saw the marriage as financially advantageous and was adamant for it to happen. She kept refusing because she wanted to offer her life to God instead. So he took her to the busiest marketplace and stripped her clothing. He hoped that by ruining her modesty, he would take her chance for the life of chastity away from her. However, God looked on her kindly and made her hair grow so long in an instant that it covered her like a robe. The miracle saved her, allowed to join a convent and she became a saint.

Or at least, that's the story I know.

I was named after the late singer, Doris Day.

My name is Layla. My parents got it from the movie Big Daddy but a lot of people assume they got it from the song.

My parent's best friends had a set of twins 5 weeks before I was born. Their names were Shelly Marie and Shannon Michelle. So my parents took one name from each girl and came up with Shelly Michelle. Which is basically the same name twice since Shelly is often used as a nickname for Michelle. I always get asked if Shelly is short for Michelle. And I reply kind of. But I also think it was interesting because when you are named after someone it's usually someone much older, not your childhood Playmates

My name is Hazel Mae. I am supposedly Imelda taken from the Bible, but my cousin's wife whose name is Imelda as well opposed it because she said, she didn't even like her name. Thank goodness my parents agree with her suggestion which is my name now. It is Mae because I was born in May too.

Just right before I was born, my mom and dad were forced to leave their home by the people. They left home and settled in the capital city of Afg, where it was very hard for my mom. Then that year I was born. My mom says she felt terribly alone and so I was given to her so she could have someone in her darkest moments in life, then she gave me a name which has a meaning of brightness and sunshine. I was also named Abdullah by my dad once, it means the submitter to god.
