I read the book and was a little disappointed with he movie because they changed the timeline which is key to the plot. So I'd take book anyday.

I enjoyed reading the book... Not my favourite of the year I have to say, but I did enjoy reading it during my break in August. As many others, the part I enjoyed the most was the road trip (I didn't really care much about the characters until that point). That is why the movie was a disappointment for me. The road trip part seemed rushed, it lacked that character building and bonding of the book. I would have to say the book is definitely better, even though both are mediocre.

I haven't seen the movie though I'd really like to. I have to convince the husband to watch it on movie night! :) I'm ALWAYS hesitant to watch the movie of a book I've read and enjoyed but I have high hopes for Paper Towns. I thought The Fault In Our Stars was great (movie and book)!

I read the book a few months ago as part of my schools book club. I honestly did not like the book because of Margo. I love how John Green writes and allows you to connect with the characters but I did not have a deep interest in Margo. Does anyone else feel this way? As for the movie, I think they did a very good job of staying true to the book and everything. Added to my very short list of movies I have watched that were true to the book.

They are both really good but if I was forced to pick one I would pick the book because you get more of the story, movies always cuts some of it because otherwise it would be too long

The book was better hands down in my opinion. The book lets you imagine and make it your own. Once it goes to the big screen it is often impersonal and doesn't truly depict the story. I saw the movie after it was released on DVD and I honestly didn't like it. I felt like story was buried underneath popular culture.

I usually avoid watching the movie adaptations of young adult novels. There are so many that have been executed poorly. So if someone could give a good review on the movie, that would be much appreciated!

The book was better. The movie wasn't too bad though.

For me, it depends on the book/movie. Typically, the book is better but there have been movies I've liked more. Example, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. While I do think the book is very good, it is my least favorite in the series, but the movie adaption is one of the best in the series.

I really enjoyed the casting for the movie– each actor stayed true to his or her character. I usually enjoy the books better than the movies just because of how much more detail the reader gets, Paper Towns being no exception. I thought it was strange that Angela went on the road trip, but it provided some comedic relief.

I loved the movie, but I think that nothing could compare to the book. The book had more detail and insight to the characters, and I personally like to imagine and see the scenes going on in my head as I read.
