Venus and Mars

Post by authorapril »

Under the moonlight
Under the stars
We make sweet love
Venus and Mars

Tangled and entwined
Two worlds collide
Galaxies apart
Together we abide

Floating in nowhere
Existing everywhere
Beyond physical
The love we can share

You in me, I in you
Rolled all into one
We hang constantly
Love never undone

Aligning at the right moment
We explode into ecstasy
Venus and Mars
Coexisting so freely

New heights of pleasure
Forbidden to men
We have tapped into
Our love will never end

I'm a big fan of Roman and Greek mythology. And from that viewpoint, I definitely aplaud this tantalizing image of these two characters. Great job.

I enjoyed reading this poem. I actually read it more than once. I love the romantic sense of the piece. It reminds me of Romeo and Juliet, but more than this. It speaks of mutual love. Even though venue and mars are worlds apart, there is still a moment when they become one. 😉 Its cosmic love!

Tangled and entwined
Two worlds collide
Galaxies apart
Together we abide

They always say that women are from Venus, men are from Mars, but I couldn't imagine Venus forever be apart from Mars

I love itt!!! The poem has a great and consistant flow. The tone set from the beginning is subtle and delicate but still makes the poem outstanding and gives a vivid visual effect

I am also a lover of Greek and Roman myth and I share your view completely .... but I feel so sad for Hephaestus (Vulcan) :( ... I wonder if someone should tell him. :?
