The Dryad of the Forest

Post by Samwisekoop »

A dryad dances on the waters
Her billowy skirt swirls around her graceful feet
Her toe tipped the glossy face; n'er falters
And her falling hair, her waist did it meet

The forest turf is her gown
The flowers of the meadow twine her girdle
She'd be a sight to see if she be found
For she walks unseen amongst the clover, apple blossoms, and the myrtle.

Some poets get their material from mythology, the nature spirits and fairyland characters. I am always delighted to read rhymed poems.
