Death Come Swiftly

Post by Billy Bookmark »

Death come swiftly
so that I may rest
I'm weary of fighting
I must confess
A peaceful surrender
So please don't cry
but I'm no longer willing
or wanting to try
The pain is unbearable
and I'm tired of tests
Death come swiftly
so that I may rest
I've fought my battle
as best I can
Now I'm ready to grasp
my Father's hand
I know in your eyes
it doesn't seem fair
but I'm going to heaven
I'll wait for you there
I'm ready to go
don't think of me less
Death come swiftly
so that I may rest

I just read another abcb rhyme scheme, and where that poem read more like a nursery rhyme this one reads like a sad Pixar film. Are you still out there?

I feel the persona... Tired of life, suffering, pain and disappointments. Sometimes this happens, but one thing they need is consolation that all will be fine. Nice poem

I feel this poem on a personal level right now. I am having the same feelings and I want to rest. I can feel what you felt when you wrote this.
