Outside the box thinking

Post by Robert Salau »

The night was still. Dark Grey skies overhead with the clouds expectant. The moon was shining gloriously under the neatly arranged clouds, like Someone literally closed curtains over my shoulder. Surely the planet must be breathing a sigh of relief as human activity is locked down all over the world. Natural resources were being overexploited while leading to global warming at an alarming rate. Every living creature seems more alive than ever before. Dogs barking outside are louder than normal tonight and the Donkeys seems lazy, fat and unfit since the curfew began. In the world If, what would happen if there were no humans? The other mammals, the birds, insects, molds, and organisms would keep living. The fish would be fine in the oceans, the Antarctica would be gigantic and the White bears would roam the vast garlic white polar surfaces. We already can measure the impact that the lockdown of the capital is having on suburban regions with less traveling, driving, buying, wasting. More of sanitizers, hand washing, self distancing, isolation and quarantine. Day to day we see the social quality trait humans posses, unlike other animals, decline. Now is not the right time to be outside unless you are Luke Cage or receive a beating that will take away your last breathe.

In an attempt to stop the spread of the virus government authorities are trying to enforce a nation wide curfew. Police needs to use new models when dealing with citizens. You don't teach by hitting people, that might be your mother, sister or grandmother elsewhere and surely its something, at their position, would not want to transpire. It is embarrassing seeing conflict breeding grounds being given room and space to thrive when citizens retaliate leading to chaos and therefore an improper way of fighting the virus, which is a common denominator to everyone and an enemy world wide. Instead we should all be fighting with water, soap and sanitizers to terminate this common enemy as a unit and glory awaits us, we shall overcome.

Countries with nuclear weapons are helpless over a common invisible enemy easily defeated with water, sanitizer and soap. This pandemic will lead to many implementations by governments and policy formulations put forth to contain the spread of the virus. The post-lockdown will have to be a smooth transition to ensure economic activity does not come to a halt all together. With all the stimulus packages by governments, businesses are predicted to resume back to normalcy in 9 to 12 months if all businesses start operations early may, though hotspot regions are to remain in containment for a bit longer period than other regions to avoid widespread community spreading until large scale screening of people in the region is done and complete.

Climate change alarmists are predicting a world food crisis in 2050 with the assumption that the worlds population is not regulated. At the start of another decade fertility rates are forecasted to have a significant decline by 2030 as a result of Going Viral. Robert Malthus, a British Economist in 1876 put forth the theory that population increases geometrically and food production increases inversely and in the Long run food produced will not be enough to sustain the worlds growing population, Malthusian Theory of Demography. I sympathize with those that have lost somebody close and i don't disregard the lives claimed by the Covid-19 on a global scale as it continues spreading across borders worldwide like a rapid fire on dried hay grass plantation.

Disaster capitalism occurs during catastrophes and Coronavirus unveils so much opportunities world wide for those with an eye for a pound. I wonder if the rational citizen have an entrepreneurship eye and knows what opportunities are presented by the pandemic. Do they take a leap of faith and go all out for that dream they have long suppressed inside? In all honesty, it’s all just business instinct to execute an idea in the market then slowly but steadily, climb up that branch of a seed once planted, feel the breeze and leap into the air of their actualization. But there could be a moment of sheer joy as they see the returns curve rise up, then slowly but steadily tighten their grip on the market and open their arms to float on the breeze that comes with scaling up the ladder. Can the entrepreneurs close their eyes and feel one in the entrepreneurship universe? How tantalizing are the rewards really to the producers at the bottom of the pyramid and countries GDP in general.

I can't stop my mind from wandering how the suburban world will look like in the next decade and beyond. A new world, same planet, with the same days around the sun but different beings, strong and compassionate sapiens united and on the same wavelength, with quality air, eco-friendly means of production and transportation, improved universal health care, purified blue economy with trident underwater drones sending back big data analysis of the ocean water contamination levels, electronic commerce and Technology led agriculture, drones over your shoulders. The possibilities are infinite and there would be, out with the old and in with the new, revolution. railway lines with pneumatic tubes through which one travels at the rate of 10 miles a minute. Could we all but duly anticipate and appreciate the refinements of civilization in the next decade amidst all the fear and self isolation we currently are facing.
