The Sun and Her Flowers by Rupi Kaur

Post by Arya_Rao »

<t>The Sun and Her Flowers by Rupi Kaur is one of the best contemporary poetry books. The book is made up poems that reveal the deep feelings of a woman going through a break up and trying to move on. The poems are empowering and are accompanied with doodles (drawn by Rupi Kaur herself) to put a picture to the emotion. Each poem ends with a few words that summarize the feeling portrayed in each specific passage. It might be cliche but it is nice to curl up in a blanket and read this collection when it's raining or even after a breakup; it does work better than ice cream. To sum it up in a few words, the book follows a girl who feels that she's at the bottom and then she blooms into the most beautiful flower. Every page is worth reading.</t>
