I'm not into poetry but I keep an open mind to works such as Kaleidoscope of Being by Jennifer Toth. She talks about how she pulled through difficult times in her life, inspired and strengthened by Jesus' teachings. Some of the best quotes, statements and famous last words come in the form of poetry. Congratulations to Ms. Toth for this Book of the Day. While religious themes and her spiritual journey dominate her poems, I'm fascinated to learn from Mercy Bolo's review that she has passages in which she imagines spending a day with great artists such as Picasso and Van Gogh, who might not have been as religious as she is. Bolo's assessment that Ms. Toth is able to depict the artists' personalities "realistically," based on their historical descriptions, shows the author's talent.

I love poetry because of the rich choice of words. This book contains very refreshing themes on love. The themes on mental health and repression also makes it a compelling read. Thanks for the wonderful review.

I enjoy reading poetry once in a while but I haven't come across one like this which has a Christian background and is inspirational in one. Thanks for the great review.

I havent decide which poetry book to read this year. While I was reading the review, I thought "why not I select this to be the first poetry book of the year to me?" I am glad this book is today's #botd.

I enjoyed reading the sample of this poet's work. The reviewer gave a broader perspective of the whole book, and I would enjoy taking my time to savor each poem in the anthology. Toth seems to have a unique take on some timeless topics.

Based on the review this is not a book that I would enjoy reading. I don't like to read stories with religious beliefs/content. I also have no interest in reading about a spiritual journey. I will pass on reading this book.

I am glad that the author gives her message through poems. I do read poems once in a while, so I wouldn't mind adding the book to my to-read list.

I expected the book to be a collection of religious poems, but it is definitely more than that. As the title indicates, the poet tackles a multitude of life's facets. I loved the poem "Fade Away": I'm doing spring cleaning yeah/Re-arranging my brain!/O' the madness that is you!/What you try to understand/Is lost in the wind, lost in the wind!" Thanks for an interesting review!

Nice review. But I'm not a fan of collection of poems although they seem to carry powerful themes and messages in their lines. I will pass on this one.

This sounds like a great inspirational read. I'm sure I'll learn a lot from it. I also like the theme of loving as Christ explored by the author. Thank you for the review.

I am a fan of poetry and the title and cover make me intrigued by this collection, but I'm not a big fan of modern Christian poetry. I might still read it because of the inspirational aspect and the poetry involving darker issues like mental illness, but I'm not so sure if this is for me considering the Christian themes. Thank you for the helpful review.

I have always believed that without self-love, one cannot love someone else. And what more example of love than the love of God. We can be better each day. Congratulations on this poems book on BOTD.

I usually don't read this type of books. So I can't say for sure that I'd enjoy it. But as it seems to be a great work, I might give it a try thanks to your review.
