I really like the cover of the book. I think the art there is also making a point.

I love that the author divides the book the way he does and that we get a look at different sides of him and his poetry. This definitely sounds like a book I want to seek out and read.

This book is definitely thought-provoking. You can't just stay the same when you look at the various themes from the perspective you are presented with in Sh*tolian.
To read or not to read? That's not even a question!

This s a collection of poetry with a bold tone of self-examination and identity, and four sections of poetry including a total of 49 poems. The book is temporarily discounted on Amazon Kindle and has well-written OnlineBookClub review. Congrats on the BOTD selection.

In the first section, there are 14 poems dealing with racial inequality. Persaud calls out racial issues and experiences specifically between black people and white people. For example, in the poem “black and white drinking fountains” the author points out that although the water fountains in the text are separated, the water comes from the same pipes.

It brings me so much happiness that authors are starting to point out how absolutely nonsensical racism is. I hope that helps make a change in a reality that's absurd and, literally, deadly.
This section is called “writer’s block: a book of shi**y poems,” and the author includes eight poems that dance around with the word that lends itself to the title of this book. I enjoyed seeing the playful and sarcastic sides of this author.
It takes courage to laugh at oneself. I can appreciate that. And sometimes humor is a great tool to point out uncomfortable truths.

Great review! Thanks!

Seems like a beautifully written book. I especially liked that the central theme of the book is "identity". While I don't read poems, I think the authors efforts on writing poems on such difficult topics like AIDS and racial divides is commendable.
Great job on the review!

The representation of sensitive issues with lines of poems are magical. The artistic feel is out of this world. As a lover of poetry, for a poem like this one I love that there were no rhyme schemes. It will certainly help the Poet to express his thought fully. Great work. I hope to pick this sometime.

An amazing collection of 49 poems with a bold tone of self-examination and identity is presented in the book "Shitolian" by O Persaud. The topics like slavery, AIDS, domestic violence, and blood diamonds are nicely touched in this book. I should be reading this book at the earliest.
life is only knowing the unknown, we can do this by reading books easily- Online book club is a great place for this. This is what I believe.

Poetry is something I am still trying to ease into. Judging by the review, this one is punchy with vast themes. Hopefully, I will enjoy it.

Today's BOTD is a collection of 49 poems broken into sections that focus on identity, social justice, self-discovery, and behavior. The vivid descriptions and details bring the words to life, and the free-verse format invites readers to reflect on the subject both as a whole and personally. Thank you so much! I loved your review, and the examples you provided were awesome! I've added this to my WTR list! Great work!! :-)

That's a funny title with an interesting meaning! Also it's a new word to me. Unfortunately, I don't read poem collections. So, I think, I'll skip reading this book.

I am not a poetry fan, and I don't care for unnecessary profanity! I guess I will pass on this book. However, I commend the author for the issues touched on in the poems! I am sure poetry lovers will enjoy this book! Thanks for the lovely review!
