I have perused through some of her books before and I absolutely love them. I adore the way in which she delineates the scenes. I likewise love the cast of essential characters in the book. An amazing book I should admit.

Jennie Linnane set this historical fiction very uniquelly. It is a narrative about a family's life after WWII. A fun read. Nice review.

Sounds like the characters are well-written and enjoyable to read. I'm not a fan of historical fiction, but your review makes it seem like the book will definitely appeal to fans of the genre, as well as readers who like close-knit families in their books.

Jennie Linnane has done a great job with this work of historical fiction. I liked her Ironbark Hill as well, so looks like I do like her writing style, doesn't it?

Thanks for the excellent review. It looks like River Kids by Jennie Linnane is an engaging historical fiction set in Australia. The life after soon finish of the second world war is the plot. I guess people who like to know about world wars and life thereafter will surely like this book the most.

This is a must-read book. I like the fact that the characters are authentic and thus making the story relatable. Sad to read that the conflict with the neighbor could not be resolved. Thanks for the review.

I'm glad to see another book by Jennie Linnane. Since I know that she is a phenomenal author, I will be taking a look at this one. Her other books are well done and I enjoy the themes that she brings with the coming of age style.

This sounds like a good family story, about life in Australia after the second world war. I also like the fact that is historical fiction. Based on what the reviewer says about the story, I would read it.

Even though this books celebrates nostalgia, family and community relationships. While the characters are engaging, the book reminds the reader that the characters are humans, trying to survive.

The official review of the River Kids is a detailed work. It explores the theme of the novel as well as the characters. The mention of the Pearl Harbour attack shows the element of war in the novel. It also sets the timing of the novel close to the Second World War. The review appreciates the novel profusely and offers no criticism.

I don't usually read historical fiction but tried one a few days back and it didn't turn out to be good. Hope this one is interesting to read. Good luck to the author 👍

Initially I wasn't interested in this book, since it was related to war and I was fed up with that kind of books. But after reading the whole review, I realized that its not completely about the war. So I'll be reading this book and thanks for the kind review.

Though I am not a fan of a historical fiction, I find the story engaging as it's main focus is on family relationships. I also like the humor connected to it.
