Based on the review this book is not something that I would enjoy reading. I don't like to read historical fiction. I also greatly dislike reading about the time of WWII and the Nazis. I will pass on reading this book because it is not something that I would like reading.

Thanks for an insightful review. I am curious to see how the title of the novel is manifested in the relationship between Jedrek and Viktor. This should be a good read.

I like the angle taken by the author to narrate this story of two friends during the WW2. Also considering that's this is a humane angle it definitely gives this book an edge. Looking forward to reading it soon. Thanks for the great review.

The relationship between Jadrek and Victor is what caught my interest. I love books about people developing strong bonds especially whenever's in other circumstances they probably would have never interacted with each other.

I enjoy reading world war related books. The first 2 paragraphs of the review alone made me sold to this book. What a relief to have the translations to the German and France phrases. Congrats on the #botd .

I sampled the book on Amazon. The story begins with the description of WWII and the adversaries created by the dictator Hitler. The writing style is engaging. As mentioned in the review by Mercy Bolo, this should be an interesting read for lovers of historical fiction.

Even though I don't enjoy reading books about war (especially WWII since it really depresses me), this review is actually making me consider picking it up. It explains the story without spoiling anything, and in such an intriguing way. I feel like the atmosphere of the book has been captured in it. Very good review, and I hope to one day write as beautifully as you do.

A nice fictitious historical story book with title The Strength of Wills by Allen Walker is set in Poland, Germany, and France during WWII, and revolves around Jedrek, a polish teenager whose home is destroyed by a bomb and killing his mother. Jedrek manages to escape and lives with Viktor who is an old ex-military officer. The story appears quite interesting to read about adversaries created by the Hitler.
life is only knowing the unknown, we can do this by reading books easily- Online book club is a great place for this. This is what I believe.

Sounds like an adventure. I love books that have a timeline during WWII. This journey that Jedrek takes after the bombing that killed his family, meeting Viktor, dealing with the Nazi’s seems like a fascinating story of strength and will. I can’t wait to read it.

The review it's excellent. I enjoy a good war book. The only thing that kept me away of this one is the sexuality in times of war theme. Anyways congrats on BOTD.

Historical fiction is my favorite genre. This one seems to have a very captivating story, especially because the author writes it in the form of journal entries.
