This type of book shows the story of our nation's real heroes. They don't care about their lives and devote themselves to their duty toward the nation. They live an extraordinary life. Thanks for your great review. I will definitely check it out.

Thanks for your insightful review! I love when a book seems real and touches you down to the soul. It sounds like the author was able to do this by keeping the characters real and via his writing style.

"Deadly Waters: The Vietnam Naval War And Its Aftermath" by Randy Miller sounds interesting. The treatment a Navy sailor by those who were supposed to help him - Veterans coupled with the heart-wrenching stories of war. Maybe stories like this one need to be revisited or read to understand hat transpired at that time.

Thanks for the great review! I kind of wanted to read the story before, but after your review I definitely want to read it. I don’t like books about war necessarily but men in the military or at war but with human aspect to it I do love reading. So thanks for the review! :)

I once read an historical war book, 'Elena'. The story line was so heart wrenching, I'm not sure I want to read another. Great review though

I can only imagine how I would feel if I gave for my country as these men did, only to return home to find that same country refusing to assist in treating illnesses acquired from exposure to Agent Orange. Based on your review, it sounds like this book does a good job showing the different battles, both expected and unexpected, that these men had to fight as a result of their involvement in the war.

I like war stories with well developed, engaging characters. This one is especially pertinent, as it is being replayed, in a sense, with the 9/11 firefighters who got sick from the chemicals at the trade towers, yet are being ignored by our government. So sad. Thanks for the review, EmunahAn. :techie-studyingbrown:

It seems the Vietnam war is often neglected in war books. It's nice to see someone tackle many of the difficult issues that arose from this conflict. Glad to hear it was well written and enjoyable.

'Agent Orange' intrigues me a lot for some reason. I'm glad that the characters are well developed. It's one of the things I look for in a book. Thanks for the review!
