I am not a fan of historical novels. I don't like wars as well. No matter what there are victims on both sides who suffer a lot of misery without any reason. I just can not read it. Congratulations on being BOTD 💐💐👍🏻👍🏻💐💐

The story tells you of a war I never saw and I think this is the best way to know more. And it's true war affects both sides that are fighting. Thanks for the great review.

In my recent reading recently, I have come across quite a number of books on Vietnam. Each points a different picture to this war and the human cost to it as well. This looks like yet another book with poignant tales to tell. Nice review.

This does sound like a heart wrenching book. I have always felt that soldiers are not given enough credit or support once they have come home.congratulationson BOTD

Wonderful review. Between this and the sample i actually believe i may enjoy this book which is a hard feat considering i dont like most war stories. The only downfall is it reminds me of a story i read in high school, i cant remember the name, but i do believe it was the story of a soldier in veitnam if i remember correctly. Grats on botd and interesting topic to write a fictional story about.

I don't think that this book is for me. I don't like to read books about the war. I don't want to read the after effects of agent orange. Learning about the aftermath of a war or the horrors a war causes is not an interest to me.

It's sad that the sailors did not get the recognition they deserved and instead were mistreated in the process. I usually enjoy books like this. I think I will try it out. Thanks for the review.

Young men join the Navy, only to be let down by the country they served. Congressional law prevents them from getting any financial aid, yet they carry illnesses caused by the Agent Orange chemical. The soldiers' effort to fight for compensation makes for an exciting read.

Sounds an interesting book that opens the chapter of Vietnam war before readers. Of course, it is one sided review of a war. The other side would have faced the same horrors, and may be more than that. Great review.

I agree with you that Randy Miller is a gifted writer with a penchant for realistic descriptions . I'm interested in what history teaches us and more than anything else on the consequences of war on ordinary people like young farm boy Zack in this case. I've also recently read another novel on the Vietnam War - RVN by Tim Gingras. The protagonist is a certain Charlie who, like Zack, leaves high school and joins the army, fully unprepared for what war means. I'd like to read and compare the two perspectives on the Vietnam War. Thanks for a great review!

You write about the horrors after the war being worse than the horrors of war, that's a terrible thought. Great review. I'm drawn to reading the book. Thanks
