I feel like there are always too few books written on the real effects of war. The Vietnam war I'm particularly interested in, as it signifies the "loss of the American innocence".

The experience of soldiers during and after the Vietnam War seems to be captured fully by the author in this lovely book. The author's use of humour to lighten up the mood in this heart-wrenching book is quite insightful. Thanks for the review.

I really enjoyed reading your review. You captured the elements you liked most in the book and that's what will compel me to finish it.
But the path I’ve chosen has always been the right one, and I wouldn’t have had it any other way. :)

I love the fact that the author has a way with words that is truly engaging for any reader. He is also able to balance the heart-wrenching experiences of war while still inserting aspects of humor into the storyline. This must be an interesting read. Great Review!

Not a fan of historical books, but I love war-related books. I may give this a try.

I love that this book isn't afraid of showing the gross underbelly of how we as a society treat our ex-servicemen
Even though it's a work of fiction, I hope books like these prompt us all to realize this that we need to do more for the people who spend their lives protecting us.
Definitely on my Christmas shopping list. Great Review.

I can never tire of reading war novels. Apart from the action involved, there are lessons for future generations to learn. This one about the Vietnam War and the consequences of the war such as agent orange is interesting enough. Thanks for the wonderful review.

It's fascinating that this book highlights the aspect of war that is not usually written about. I can see how it would evoke deep emotions in readers. Thank you for the enlightening review.

Pleasant review, nicely written, EmunahAn. Thank you. The two gifts from the author are:
1. The text effortlessly created imagery in the mind.
2. Incorporation of humour amidst painful times in the story.
Not talking from a storyline perspective but the art of the author.

The story really tells how war has been such a devastating thing to everyone who participates in it. Congrats to the book of the day.
