This sounds like a really interesting book. For some reason, the Netflix show Frontier comes to mind when I read your review. Now I can't stop thinking about Jason Momoa...

Thank you for a very good review. I think I may enjoy the Riverboat Trilogy as I am interested in historical fiction and the realistic descriptions are a plus no matter if they include some gruesome elements too.

Nice, thorough review! You made the story sound so interesting. I am not sure I would like the speeches, since they might be a little draggy. Still, I like historical fiction so I am going to take a look at the sample.
