The plot is intriguing, I am a fan of historical fiction and I hope one day I can read this if it was finished series already. I hate the tension of waiting for the sequel releases.

I am so intrigued by your interesting and fully detailed review of this fictional book, talking about slavery and then about freedom at some point. Your review has given me the spark to read this book very soon. Amazing job!!

From your review, I'm interested in picking this up. I'm always curious as to the historical accuracy of historical fiction, and what research resources were used. Were there notes or some mention of any research the author did? Since the review mentions racially based differences in dialogue, I would assume that's conveyed through speech patterns and minor spelling changes to convey dialects and accents as the enslaved woman continues north on her journey to freedom.

This review is great. It treats important narrative issues such as unique slang among different social classes and provides a fair treatment to the slavery subject. I now want to read the book to see if it's as good as this review puts it. Great job.

This review has spiked my curiosity. You seem to have enjoyed the book very much. I am particularly interested in experiencing the fictional elements that come out as non-fiction as I thoroughly enjoy books that do that. Thank you for your review and I look forward to experiencing this book myself.

I’m interested by the idea of the two different ways of speaking. It suggests a high level of care for authenticity went into this book. That would definitely encourage me to read it!

The review is really good. The part where you wrote that the slaves wanted freedom makes me want to read it more because most slaves had the brainwashed idea of them being always slaves.

I can connect to this book because i have been told the slavery story of the black race. It put me in a suspense and i became inquisitive as to what happened after Annabelle Brown decided to seek freedom from her master. This is such an amazing review. Well done.

This sounds like a good read! I like stories that break the mold and characters who make the hard choices to pursue what matters most to them. It sounds like this is one of those stories.
