I think it's a genius move to write a story that mixes up elements of fiction and real life. They tend to hit home a lot better. Also, I hope Bill Cravats isn't really dead and the he makes it back to Becky. Congrats on BOTD.

Usually romance genre is predictable and the book is only successful when it shows something that we were not predicting. I agree with the reviewer. Well it still a good book. Thanks for the review.

Thanks for brilliant review. About the book, I would say it is a good blend of reality, imagination and historical events but being too predictable makes it gloomy for me. However, imaging how things and events would have been in those historical times and a woman braving the cultures and norms of time are beautifully penned.

Thank you for your honest review. I am a huge fan of historical fiction based on accurate research, and I too love to be swept away into different time periods with a well-depicted novel. However, romance is not my favorite genre and predictability is a major turn-off for me with fictional storytelling. The introductory chapters testify to the time Black spent developing the historical basis for this book, so I applaud her commitment to recapturing the timeframe. I believe this will be a great book for romance lovers!
