I will love to see how corey, a young character was able to deal with all the challenges he faced at his young age. I think I will love to read this book. Nice review.

There's only so much a 14-year-old can do to beat life's odds. However, I see Corey as a boy who lived above his age to survive the harsh realities of life. Great story indeed.

The book seems interesting. Corey who with his hard work want a coat but the summer had so many things hidden for him. It's a mystery book. What will happen and what questions are in his mind. Will he find the answers? The plot and characters are interesting.

There's a ton of lessons to learn from 14-year-old Corey. One important lesson is the innate ability we have to survive, regardless of what life throws at us. Kudos to the author.

It sounds like the protagonist has gone through a lot, but all started with his desire to but himself a fancy jacket. I can hope that him and his mom can find a way out of the city he is currently in as it doesn't sound like the best influence on a growing 14-year-old boy. Thank you for your honest and insightful review! Happy reading :techie-studyinggray:

The story can take one back to 1960s with detailed descriptions from the author. Though the monotonous part,as u described, might act as detergent in reading this book. Thanks for the review.

The book sounds really interesting but the thought of several errors dotting the author’s work is quite discouraging. Nevertheless, I look forward to reading this book.

It's quite disappointing that a book with such amazing story has so much errors. Still, I would love to read about this interesting summer. Congratulations to the author.

Maybe this book will be a good read just to know about how things went around the 60s. I like the sound of the plot as well.

I like the realistic approach to this story. The characters feel real to the point that I feel for them. I have not read a book like this in a while, I would love to give it a try. Excellent review!

This is a very amazing and interesting story. I felt for Corey, for the kind of poor parental upbringing he experience in a city like Chicago. I would like to know what he did about the robbery decision he is about to make. Nice Review.
