Interesting title. Great themes. Beyond the beautiful storyline and awesome plot, this author needs to be applauded for the subtle but important messages she passes across about women's rights

The position Marty found herself in could be a difficult one to handle; judging from the review, I guess she handled it well. Nevertheless, I'll love to find out myself.
Great review!

I don’t normally like historical fiction, and reading fiction that involves characters showing sexist or patriarchal attitudes towards women tends to just wind me up, so I won’t be reading this book.

It's great that the little details (like wartime rationing) made this book feel more real, Thanks for the review!

With such a relatable character as Marty, this historical fiction comes to life with her courage and zeal. Definitely a book worth reading.

I am looking forward to reading this historical novel. WWII always provide a good setting for most stories.

I’ve seen a lot of historical fiction novels taking place in and around WWII making the rounds lately, but I love that this one covers the struggles for early work women in a particularly difficult profession: journalism. Even today, it’s a field that’s not all that easy for anyone, and gender bias and sexual harassment still occurs more often than people like to admit. Seeing it from a historical standpoint is the first step to recognizing it now. Thank you for the helpful review.

This book seems like an enticing read with themes of history, suspense, and women empowerment. I believe the author has created a realistic portrayal of the struggles women faced in their professional life during that era. Thank you for the detailed review.

I already like the description of Marty - a relatable and realistic character. I know how it feels to work in an environment where men are constantly pressuring women to be underneath them in terms of career growth. It would be nice to see how it was like during the World Wars, but the fact that the book has unanswered questions makes me a bit wary. Thanks for the review.

Definitely sounds like a story that would be told passionately. Women were so undervalued back then. And it was the women behind the scenes keeping to economy going during wartime. I can understand the part of fighting for your position when men are preferred. Its nice that it has some romance in it too. I can appreciate a story with a strong leading lady. I'm not sure if I will read it, but it is a definite possibility. Congratulations on BOTD.

I love historical fiction and Marty's character is very relatable for most women.
