Historical fiction that mirrors real events is indeed an interesting idea. It can teach a lot and inspire positivity to the current and future generations. A very well thought-out review. Thanks.

I thought this was going to be a children's book, so I think I will pass on this one.

This book starts with the story of the slaves forced to work in the Peruvian silver mines. Then it moves forward to the life of Mr. Motara, the first South African diplomat to Bolivia. Congratulations to the author for this enlightening book chosen as BOTD. Thanks also to the reviewer for your excellent and honest review.

This review sounds far more interesting than the sample engaged me. I agree with the review that the description seems quite overbearing, but that is the author’s style and does give life to the scene.

This sounds like an emotional read. It would be interesting to see how the author portrays slavery and racial discrimination. The romance probably helps to lighten an otherwise dark story. Thank you for your review.

Upon my first glimpse of the cover, I mistook it for a children's book. How wrong I was! This sounds like a book that demands its reader's full attention. I like that it deals with weighty topics such as mental health and the terrifying realities of human trafficking. Thanks for this informative review!

Im not really religious but I love the way that so many religious people throughout history, have used their faith to help them through hardships.

If I was asked to read this book I am sure I would not have read it. However, your review is enough to spice one's curiosity to read this book. Great review and congratulations on BOTD

I think this book would be too heavy for me to read. It sounds very informative though. Great job on your review.

This is a historical fiction memoir on the hardships and experiences the narrator faced while grpwing up including mental illness, human trafficing, and leadership. It is free on Kindle Unlimited and has an inciteful OnlineBookClub review. Congrats @Patrick_Llama on the BOTD.

There seems to be a lot of heavy stuff in this novel: drug trade, slavery, and mental illness. I am looking forward to dig into this dark novel and find out how the main character got over these difficulties nobody deserves to experience. Congrats to the author!

Normally historical fiction is somewhat predictable, yet this one seems to be very interesting. I find it intriguing how some aspects of the book are relevant nowadays. Sounds like a great read for sure.
