Thought on Nancy Drew?

Post by MsLisa »

When I was around ten I had a solid collection of Nancy Drew books and I would have collected more had I not outgrown it. I loved the books then but I haven't picked it up since so I don't know how good they actually were in retrospect. What are your thoughts on the Nancy Drew series?

Our generation grew up with Nancy Drew. Though the stories are short and simple, they really are fun. One of the favourite books kids choose.

I read a lot of Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys in my teens, too. Recently picked up a Nancy Drew again...but I just could not for the life of me finish it! These books just aren't as fun, even for nostalgia's sake, as an adult. It was quite disappointing.

Nancy Drew is classic mystery material for kids about the age of 10. Like you, I had a great collection of the series around that age and she was my favorite lead heroine at that time. To this day, the mystery genre is my favorite.

I used to love these books too, only recently found out that they were written by several different people, using one name!

I loved the Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys series when I was a kid. I owned about 10 of them and got more at the library.

I loved Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys mysteries.

They were short with a fairly quick pace so you could get involved with the storyline and if something took you away from it (like dinner) you could hop right back into it without missing a beat.

Moved from there to Jules Verne!

Actually, I love NancyDrew books. I just thought would not it be better if she does not need to lied? She can be a good example for many reader except for lying just to get what she wants. Too bad :?

My daughter, who is 12, loves Nancy Drew. She will read through a book in one sitting. She reads the old copies I had when I was growing up. I loved Nancy as a young girl too, but I don't think the experience would be the same as an adult.

I remember telling a family friend I loved Nancy Drew when I was growing up. I only had one book at the time and the family friend bought me a box set at a yard sale that day. It was so exciting and I loved them.
