I don't usually read fantasy books, but with the popularity of the Harry Potter series, I bet there will be a lot of interest--great call on comparing them in your review!

I liked Harry Potter and so does my granddaughter. She doesn't have much of an interest in reading, but maybe if she could get her hands on a female version of Harry....Hmm....

I like that it's not a long read. That might help. With any long book, she loses interest about a quarter of the way thru. Then, she's off to something else. She's 9. 💕

I'll read Dragon Born myself first and then pass it on to her. If she likes it, I'll get her the whole series.

Thank you for your insightful review.

Splendid review!, the fact that it seems like a female version of Harry potter just makes me even want to read it the more, Harry potter was a great fantasy movie, the plot, sorcery and fantastic characters made me fell in love with that series. And if this feels somewhat like that, with a female playing the Harry potter character then I definitely want to read it.

Good review. When I read the summary I said to myself that it does sound a lot like Harry Potter and I appreciate that you mentioned it and actually used it to enhance the book instead of listing it as a completely negative characteristic.

This is definitely a female version of harry potter but it's intriguing that the main character is female. I would want to read it to find out how the character reacts in this role.

good review, i think it's alright if things aren't super original sometimes, like if it helps to get 'the kids' into reading, then maybe it's a good thing that they can find a similarity so they know it's worth the time maybe

Similar in some way with Harry potter but very unique and fascinating. A book to read always.

I am always willing to read a book that resembles Harry Potter in any way, especially if it has a main female protagonist. It's good that it's short and easy to read because younger readers need that without feeling overwhelmed. It has peaked my interest.

Yes, this sounds very much like a female-centric Harry Potter. I admit I'm curious to read this one for that very reason though.

If it is not original I will not read it. This is sometimes what you have to hear. I don't want to be known hate but it is true and it's my point of view. Books need to be original and have meaning and if the books represent another book then I think the answer is clear that you shouldn't read this.
