This would be a great read, as our family has recently adopted a rescue dog!

A great guide on learning to care for a pet whether a dog, cat or even a creeping insect. This would be highly appreciated for even people who wish to have pets but do not know how to care for it in the long run especially as regards handling their emotions and feelings.

I like the story, but not the name of the book, How a dog is gonna be spiritual if he can't read ? , anything spiritual has to be of God and if God is the word how a dog? Maybe the dog owners are spiritual for loving the dog so much.

Thanks for your review. Bear sounds like a cute dog. Not only his owner, the Porters, but anyone who loves dogs would enjoy his presence.

I love dogs very much so naturally I’m drawn to this book. The story seems like something a little boy might enjoy. I love that the author features his boys playing with the dog. That adds a certain uniqueness to the book that i admire.

Since Bear was adopted from an animal shelter, the story could spark an educational discussion about rescue dogs as well as getting children to understand the way dogs change as they age. For example, as Bear gets older, he sometimes has potty accidents in the house and his hearing isn’t as good as it used to be.
These are important conversations to have with kids who want a pet. It is essential to talk about rescuing animals but also that they mean a commitment for life and, as you mentioned, both the dog and the kids will get older, things will change...
What a lovely book! Thank you!

This sounds like a sweet story for animal lovers of all ages. It is too bad there are so many grammatical errors. Thank you for your take on this book.

I'll pass on this one as I'm not interested in a children's book at this time. However, congratulations to the author on achieving BOTD!
