Are You My Mother by Dr. Suess

Post by kailey-brown420 »

This is probably the best kids book I remember reading as a child. This little picture book is about a little birdy who fell out of his nest while his mama was out finding worms. He goes around asking different animals and objects if they are his mother until in the end, he finally finds her. It is so adorable and I'll always love this little story.

The Lorax was my favorite too though Green Eggs and Ham was a close second.

This was such a great book! I remember loving this one and I think I read it to all my younger cousins as well when I used to babysit them.

I agree. Dr. Seuss is brilliant and "Are you My Mother" is my daughter's favorite book. She can read this over and over. Have any of you read his new book "What Pet Should I Get"?

Dr. Seuss is the best. My girls really enjoy reading the ones we have over and over. I would love to have a copy of all of his books. My three year old daughter really likes "Are You My Mother." We went through a phase when we read it every night.

I just read this story to my class and they really enjoyed it, just like I did. It's a great book to read to all children and their are many things that they can learn from this book too.

I think I read a lot of B-list Seuss books like Hop on Pop and Fox with Lox. I was never exposed to the Cat in the Hat until grade school

I like Dr. Suess tho I prefer his books that rhyme. Our favorite Dr. Suess book is Horton and the Kwuggerbug. It is a series of short stories that my girls get a good laugh while I read them. Even I got a good laugh in the first couple times I read it.

I love Dr. Seuss! My parents taught me to read using his books. I think my favorite is Green Eggs and Ham.

This used to be one of my favorite books. My grandmother is legally my father. It's hard to understand. But I used to read it with her all the time and even now sometimes I'll ask her if she's my mother and she'll smile and say "always and forever." I love the relationship we share. And I love how books can shape it to be as amazing as it is :D
