Official Review: Legend of Jungle Land by Safiya Wilcox
Legend of Jungle Land by Safiya Wilcox is a children's book about a serious problem in queen Autumn's land. Throughout this book, the writer focuses on themes like friendship, wisdom, anger, and love. The writer’s language is simple, while the colorful pictures in the book allow young readers to easily follow the story’s plot.
At the start of the story, the author introduces a beautiful queen named Autumn. A bird, called Henta, arrives at the queen’s palace, where he chirps nervously. The queen brings her interpreters to find out what Henta is saying to her. Henta is describing the dangerous situation in the jungle, where an angry elephant is stomping the ground violently, thereby scaring all the other animals. How will queen Autumn solve this crisis? Who can help her? Is the elephant truly evil?
This story was awesome in several ways. First of all, no spelling or grammatical mistakes were present in the book, showing that it was exceptionally edited. Besides this, the storyline was original, as the ending was unexpected and very interesting. Furthermore, the plot followed a rational flow, as the events were described in chronological order. What I liked most about this story was that it was accompanied by colorful illustrations, which grasp the attention of young readers by making the book more engaging and livelier. I found nothing negative to comment about in the text.
This book will be mostly enjoyed by children at elementary school who like reading about wild animals. Girls are more likely to prefer this book, as most of the main characters in the story are girls. Both religious and non-religious readers may enjoy this story.
In summary, this book deserves a rating of 4 out of 4 stars. I gave it a perfect score, as it was faultlessly edited, originally written, logically structured, and creatively illustrated.
