Official Review: Maggie and friends animal adventure
Animals often appear as characters in children’s books. I think such books are especially interesting to children because the plot is often set in a different and unusual environment. Likewise, children in such books can learn something new about animals and nature. Maggie and Friends Animal Adventure by Nancy Nilson is one such book in which most of the characters are animals, and the plot is set in the jungle.
This is a children's book that follows an unusual young hippopotamus named Maggie. Maggie has very strange ambitions and aspirations for a hippopotamus. She wants to teach children about the different animals in the world. The reader in the book discovers all the adventures Maggie goes on with her friends and family.
I like the illustrations the most in the book. They are extremely vibrant, colorful, and fun. I especially like that every page of the book is illustrated. I believe that this segment is very important for children because their attention is mostly focused on the pictorial part. I also like the concept of the story itself. Friendly and cheerful animals that can teach children and take them on exciting adventures can hardly be a bad choice for a story.
The key thing I do not like about the book is the ending that seems unfinished. I also think the story could have been better elaborated. Some parts of the story seemed unexplained and undeveloped. I would have preferred the book to contain some real facts and information about animals. Since Maggie teaches children about animals, such information would have been interesting and useful.
I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars. The book is fun, imaginative, and playful. The story is envisioned very well with an interesting setting and likable characters. Personally, I would have preferred it to have been written in a little more detail. I think this book would be ideal for children who are just learning to read. I would also recommend it to parents of young children. It could be an ideal bedtime story. I also encountered some grammatical errors, but they did not affect my reading much.

True, I agree. But even without that, the story is charming in itself!amrinzaeda wrote: ↑04 Jan 2021, 00:14 I agree, it’s a shame that the author didn’t include real facts about the animals! Children often have great interest in them and it would have doubled as educational as well. Anyhow, I really appreciate your review!

Animals are definitely interesting for children as characters in storiesReviewer100 wrote: ↑06 Jan 2021, 09:13 Animals have the best friends in children. I'm also a good fan of them both—that why I would gladly read this piece.
